Family Walk - March 10th, 2024
There has been a debate in our house about which is better: Spring in Nashville or Fall?
Due to allergies, we decided the Fall wins the battle, but only by a little.
We’ve had so many glorious evenings this past week. As much as I hate the time change, it has been wonderful to be outdoors later and later for these family walks.
Newish Lens
On this walk, I tried to limit myself to a lens I don’t usually use for photography.
I used my Sony 20mm f1.8 - just fyi, this is an affiliate link, which means if you purchase this lens from my link I’ll get a small commission that supports my site at no cost to you.
The 20mm is my absolute favorite vlogging lens at the moment. I use it all the time for my videos.
But I do not typically take pictures that wide.
I typically use my Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GMII Lens (affiliate link). It’s usually my go-to workhorse lens for my photography. And I normally stay between 35mm-50mm.
But I wanted to challenge myself to use a wider lens to see what shots I could get.
These aren’t my favorite images I’ve taken, but it was fun playing around with something newish.
When I went to edit these photos, I noticed vignetting in the bottom right-hand corner of the images. I tried to get rid of it in the post, but it was fairly prominent. I could have messed with them more, but I realized that I actually kind of liked it, so I went with it this time around.
I want to play around with this lens more to figure out why that vignette is happening. If you know or have thoughts, please let me know! Even though I liked it on these images, it bugs me not to know why this is happening.
